GIS Data:

A wealth of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data is available for the Town of Bolton at little or no cost.  A great deal of this data is available for free download from the VGIS website at http://www.vcgi.org. You can use the interactive mapping features of the Vermont Interactive Map Viewer, or download GIS datasets from the VGIS Data Warehouse to be accessed on your own computer, using special software. The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission is another source of GIS data. Contact Pam Branagan, CCRP's GIS expert.

A small sample from an orthophoto tileOrthophotos:

The Vermont Mapping Program collects "orthophotographs" of all towns in the state on a periodic basis (about every 12 years). These special aerial photographs are georeferenced and corrected to meet national map accuracy standards by the State of Vermont and are available in both paper and digital format. If you are not a resident of Bolton, or if you would like paper copies of these maps, please check the Vermont Mapping Program website.

Software:

GIS datasets are designed to be manipulated and viewed in GIS software, such as ESRI ArcView.  Free versions of this type of software are available for download from ESRI's website, http://www.esri.com/software, or use this link.

Other Mapping Services:
