Homer Locke PhotosHomer Locke lived in West Bolton and was a contemporary of Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley. These photos were obtained from Locke's estate by Wilson and Mary Sanders of West Bolton and were purchased at auction in 2009, after Wilson's death, as Mary was preparing to move to New Hampshire to live with her daughter. Joss Besse took the lead in obtaining funding from local residents on very short notice and bidding on these photos in hopes of retaining this valuable historic record of the area. Joss arranged to have the glass plate negatives professionally scanned so that they can be shared with a wide audience. If you can add anything to the descriptions of these images, please email us at sjbarner@gmavt.net and we will add it. If you have access to any other images that would be relevant to this collection, we would appreciate the opportunity to add them as well. Please note that the full-sized images are quite large and may take a while to download. |
